Dealing with Transitions in Your Life

When my old computer died I didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye. I dropped it off hoping that it would be healed. Next thing I was told my files were retrievable, but the computer had had it. Then I got this computer. We are starting to bond and I am getting used to the hair trigger keys that make all kinds of buttons appear all over the screen.

It was the same way with my cell phone. I made a giant leap forward from a cheaper, simple model with manual keys to touch screen-everything. That phone likes to talk to itself in my purse sometimes (It has voice recognition). Change can be tough to deal with.

We are moving forward, most of us, supposedly improving and upscaling. It’s like a fast current that we can’t avoid but have to jump on to. I always fear stagnation but there is little logic to that when we are always learning something new, especially spiritually which creates big leaps in perception and therefore, experiences.

So, how do you deal with the change and the big transitions? Everyone I know is experiencing this at this time. As per my usual blog style, I’ve compiled a list of what I have discovered.

What to do when you are in transition.

  1. Fight it. Stay tucked away at home hardly ever leaving. Even better, hide under the bed. Ha ha! Change won’t find you here! You’ve outsmarted change! I have this image from one of my favorite movies, The Triplets of Belleville. The funky house that the main characters live in doesn’t change but we are shown the passage of time by buildings and highways being built around it. Unfortunately, cocoons are lovely but eventually the butterfly needs to emerge or risk getting dried up and brittle.
  2. Instability is hardest for earth signs like myself. We love order. Throw the order off and we feel chaotic. Focus on creating some kind of stability, whether a steady schedule or daily rituals. Knowing every morning you can stop at your neighborhood cafe where everyone knows your name helps create some kind of order. My church helps me with that, knowing every Sunday I can check in and receive sustenance and community.
  3. Go the opposite direction and throw all caution to the wind (what does that expression mean anyway?) and run away to Europe to find yourself. Think Eat Pray Love. I want to do this but I have a personality that conflicts with this jump-in- the-water kind of experience, but you may like it. The trip may change your world around.
  4. My one friend suggested buying a poster board and filling it up with new goals. Brainstorming is a great way to open doors you may not have considered. I have had a tough time with this project as my life didn’t turn out at all like I thought it would, and I am a little afraid of what more is in store if it’s anything like what I’ve been through! So I would suggest, if you are like me, baby steps for your planning sessions. Just focus on the next little ideas that may be coming to the surface and nudging at you. Like building a new foundation you are given the next few bricks, not a whole wall all at once. (I know, we want the whole wall and even the building plan drawn out for us so we know where we are going.)
  5. Avoid the past. This is a big tip to follow when you are in transitions. When I get pulled into the past, I am miserable and stuck back there spinning my wheels. But that isn’t my reality now. When I do this I am really experiencing a form of PTSD. I have to remind myself those were yesterday’s lessons, not today. Like school, I don’t have to repeat ninth grade if I graduated! It’s a hard habit to break when your future isn’t coming in fast enough and you need to hold on to something, but it isn’t real. It’s a faulty coping tool that is similar to sitting under the bed.
  6. Practice patience. I have very little of that, unfortunately. If this is one of your virtues, rejoice, and please share your tips on how to have it with the rest of us. I think I missed that class in school.
  7. Focus on the sensual. This is big guidance I’ve been receiving. Listening to beautiful music, feeling the softness of my dog-ters, looking at colors, tasting great food, I am in the joyful moment. I am rebuilding my hope and faith with each small treat. Enjoying being in that space, everything is okay in my world and nothing can hurt me. It’s like I am closest to God then.

So, there isn’t a quick fix like we would like when we are in transition. Sitting under the bed has it’s time and place, but eventually we do need to come out from under at least to eat. Hopefully, following some of these tips will help you emerge a little stronger from your cocoon, and you will move more courageously into the next chapter of your life.

List: When I can Hear Guidance and When I Can’t

I’ve been keeping track when, how and where I hear good guidance vs. fears, spirits and crazy thoughts picked up along the way. Here’s my list of when I hear guidance the best:

  1. In the bathtub. No seriously. Water acts like a conductor and I get all kinds of big ah-ha’s being submerged in water. When I used to swim I always received a ton of creative ideas.
  2. Being around like-minded’s. Many of my buds are intuitive and when I am around or talk to them, I am raised up and tuned-in. We amplify each other.
  3. When I am happy. Duh.
  4. Being in Nature = #3 above.
  5. When the computer is turned off and the radio, tv, etc., I can hear much better. That seems logical as there is no interference. When my computer went down, after the first few days of serious withdrawal symptoms, I began to hear again after being shut down (hey, I just caught that. My computer shut down when I shut down!)
  6. Today at Unity Center, I was raised up. Once the music began playing from William Eaton and his daughter, I was in bliss. I could then hear true guidance and suggestions that my Guides have been trying to pass along, but I wasn’t able to hear before.
  7. I’d like to say when I am high on sugar, but that just makes me hyper, not wiser, unfortunately.
  8. When I am feeling loved. My heart is open and I am receptive to the good.
  9. When I draw. That’s when I am relaxed and doing what I love. Super-easy to reach me with good advice.
  10. The dream state! If I am having a very hard time hearing and need guidance, I sleep on it. Next morning I usually awake very wise with answers.

My List for When I don’t Hear Guidance or Hear False Guidance:

  1. When I am bitchy. Ha ha! Bad moods usually mean I am shut down and in a Nasty Fairy state of mind.
  2. Negative tv watching. I watched one show the other night and was not feeling right for a whole day.
  3. Fear. When I am lost in my own or someone else’s fear, I really can’t hear true guidance. I am like a spinning top in my own world of my own yuckky making that consists of the past or the imagined future.
  4. When I am very tired. I tend to zone out completely or hear guidance in small blips that come in and out.
  5. When I am in negative environments usually where the old paradigms work, at least they think it works. Being in those is like trying to hear through mud. Be there long enough and survival is based on only if you become blind and dumb.
  6. Negative or mean people. That kinda goes along with number 5. Being around negative people gets me going and then I’m useless for hours. They usually give unhelpful advice based on their negative experiences or filter. (Did you hear the new Taylor Swift song Mean? It’s so on.)
  7. When I am trying too hard to hear.
  8. When I am in my head not my heart and I think I know the answers using “logical mind” vs. feel and really know the answers.
  9. When I use a pendulum. I’m one of those people who can’t. Apparently, I get a great deal of false positives when I want a positive. It’s very frustrating.
  10. When I am really angry at God and my Guides. Face it, that shuts close the door for a little while. Thank goodness they are patient.

So, try to do a little more of the first list, and recognize when you are doing some of the second list. I know I will try to.

Are you becoming more sensitive?

It’s Friday and I’m teaching Fairy Online School. Woo-hoo! I’m totally digging teaching the mini-class about Roses. The lesson I received to teach for Lesson 3 is kinda mind-blowing for me and talks about the mission of the Roses.

Are you becoming more empathic? Have you noticed? It seems the more we get rid of our “mud” the more clearly we can see and the more pronounced our abilities. And before you yell at yourself for being so sensitive, like I had one moment the other day, stop and realize what a gift this is.

I’ve been picking up much lately. A dear friend of mine had a problem with spirits in her house and wanted me to pick up what I “got.” Ordinarily, I would need to go quiet my mind, relax, etc., but the information was just there. Instantly. I was actually knee-deep in watching a good show and my attention was elsewhere. That surprised me. Was it that easy now?

The other day, I was in the library and had a sudden, bad stomach ache. I wondered if it was food poisoning or too much milk. When I asked if it was foreign, I received that it was someone else’s energy in my space. They were thinking strongly about me. Once I acknowledged it, made a boundary by asking for it to go away, it did.

We do need to work on stronger protection around us, so we don’t have intruders in the first place. That’s very important, because we need to have safe space for us to breathe. With everything, we are not perfect and can’t be constantly on guard. Sometimes, stuff and folks get pass the guard. Being that sensitive, and immediately picking up that foreign energy or the energies around others, is the next step in our empathic evolution. When you are aware of the foreign energy, is the gift. It’s often when we aren’t, that we take it on and suffer so much. We carry it around like heavy backpacks and wonder why we feel so crappy.  It’s finally using our empathic ability as the gift it is. THAT’S better protection.

Signs you may have foreign energies intruding into your space:

  • SUDDEN is the key word here. You feel good one moment and awful the next. Sudden stomach aches. Sudden overwhelming emotions. If you are releasing emotions, there’s a different feel to them. It’s more gradual.
  • You will feel bad like there is a dark cloud over your head you can’t get rid of.
  • You feel crowded or influenced negatively. I notice when some spirits come around who are tricksters or troublemakers my thinking will change to fearful or negative out of nowhere. If you ask them to stop and your thoughts seem to go away immediately, you’ve got visitors.

Becoming aware is the next step in your Advanced Empathy.

Lightworkers, are we becoming too sensitive?

I am noticing with my friends, clients and myself, that we are becoming more sensitive and more psychic in our abilities. Are we evolving?

Have you noticed that you can pick up more now what others are feeling or even thinking? I haven’t been able to watch tv shows lately that are dark at all. I rented a copy of Supernatural. It’s a tv series I used to watch and enjoy. I physically hurt through most of it; there was that much violence and cruelty. This wasn’t entertainment. Maybe I am not the too sensitive one. Maybe it’s the world who is getting so numb they can stand this level of darkness assaulting our eyes. I can’t do that anymore.

After having that happen, feeling so sensitive, I first thought, “Do I need to live in a box then, away from the world?” Many of my clients come to me wondering the same things.

And the answer I heard this morning was No. You don’t need to isolate. I think we’ve always been this sensitive, some of us. We came in wired this way. But then we accumulated a great deal of mud and fog to numb over our sensitivity. What we’ve been doing is clearing out the mud and being who we really are under all that crap. So, then, the darkness doesn’t feel right when you’ve just gotten rid of a ton of our own darkness. You no longer resonate. Why would you want a part of what you just got rid of?

Our light is coming back. We aren’t turning into light. We were light to start with! And then we got involved in earth school and layers of mud kept getting added until we didn’t recognize we were light at all. We thought we were dirt. And probably listening to voices growing up telling us we were flawed in some way for being sensitive, we really did believe we were dirt.

So, no. You aren’t too sensitive. You never were. We’ve had to adjust to being here. But now you have no choice as you work on your healing to be anyone but who you really are. One big shining light. Perhaps we are all just lightning bugs.

I think that is kinda cool.

Flower essences for sensitive

Testing new essence: Pine

I was guided to make Tree Essences right now. And, much like the exercise in my Rocks and Trees certification program, I am making the essences of trees found in my yard, which I probably need the most. This essence will be part of a series Tree Essences for Support.

My first essence is a leaf essence from my front yard’s Pine tree. He’s a dashing fellow with a strong presence and with lots of pine cones being born. I will share my journey with the essence in this blog as I share my own fairy detective explorations.

I took the first sip yesterday and boy, does that baby go to the heart of the matter. Holy moly! It’s an essence for healing shame and self-esteem like most Pine essences heal. But I know that every tree is different, so this Pine will have its own “take” on healing that theme.

First sip tasted good. I felt the essence go straight to my heart/chest. And then I heard “Oh, Ronni. what now?” I also heard the self-recrimination thought, “I’m such a screw-up.” Whoa. The essence had pushed up the yucky stuff.

I felt this way for a few hours just observing and hoping it would subside. But it was clear the messages were these old messages from when I was a kid. Heck, the voices even sounded exactly what I heard as a child, and the funny thing was, I had completely forgotten ever getting these kind of messages. I even wanted to make it better–those voices– by creating some kind of order in my environment, at that very moment. I started to clean out and straighten my desk drawers, for goodness sake. It was interesting to see how those kind of thoughts led to my wanting to control and make better, and then yelling at myself when I couldn’t fix things. I kept hearing this tree’s essences was for helping with feeling you deserve good things. That must be the positive healing pattern I am working towards.

Day two.

Took the essence again this morning. Things are already shifting. Had amazing insights into the “shame” issues. As a sensitive, I have learned how to take on the blame of what is others’ issues or faults to create peace in my environment. How unbalanced. I feel a peace coming over me realizing this.

Nature is so powerful in its healing. This beautiful Pine tree is giving me this amazing gift and it is simply in my front yard. I wonder if everyone is so sensitive to Nature healing or just some of us who are open to it. Maybe just fairies. 🙂

Why Being Empathic Can Suck & Not Suck

Here is my top 10 lists why being Empathic can suck and not suck.

The 10 Reasons Why Being Empathic Can Really Suck:

  1. You can feel deeply when loved-ones are in pain. Sometimes, you can confuse what they feel with what you feel.
  2. The world can overwhelm you. Bad things happen like the tsunami in Japan, and you feel deep pain, sadness, ennui, and helplessness.
  3. You can feel deeply intimate and close to others when it may be hard for them to return the favor.
  4. You can have lots of astral and mediumship visits, hear your animals, and there are tons of voices or feelings and information coming towards you.
  5. The planets moving around and the moon cycles affect you where others walk around mindless and untouched.
  6. You have access to deep information which others don’t have and therefore, you feel the need to jump in all the time.
  7. You feel deep responsibility.
  8. Your feelings are easily hurt and wonder why others can be so cruel with their words.
  9. You care about other people. A LOT.
  10. And number 10, folks can look at you a little crazy because you can see the Fairy light in the bush, you hear your animals’ thoughts and you know someone is upset even when they insist they are just fine.

Empath, before you go jump off the bridge, I offer the 10 things that don’t suck about being an empath.

  1. Because you feel deeply, you really experience life and all its pieces. You’re really living your life richly and thoroughly.
  2. Yes, the world can be overwhelming, but you have healing and psychic abilities that others may not have and can make a big difference in healing the world.
  3. Yes, you can feel closer to others, but you teach them how to really love and love themselves. What a gift that is and what a teacher you are. Plus, you can feel love from many places to fill up with.
  4. Being psychic, your world is not limited. It’s expansive and filled with mystery. You don’t have to accept that a loved one is gone or that there is a separation between you. You know and feel there isn’t.
  5. You are in-tuned with the earth and can better heal you and itself.
  6. That deep information helps you understand other people and have compassion for them so you don’t need to judge or fall for surface stories.
  7. That deep responsibility makes you a honorable and trustworthy person.
  8. Your feelings get hurt easily, but this allows you to teach others that have no sensitivity at all. You have what they miss and need.
  9. There’s nothing wrong with caring about other people. It’s why we are here–to help ourselves and each other along the road. How cool is that?
  10. If crazy is being open to all the magic in the world, why would you want to be closed off from that?

So, you see dear empath, you are gift to the earth and what looks like something wrong is something very right.

Empath Report

It’s rainy and it’s yucky and I smell wet dog. I’ve been hearing from many how the “super moon” has affected them. We’ve got quite a bit empathically going on with the obvious, which is what is happening in Japan we are picking up. Here’s some empathic symptoms I’ve noticed of late:

  • Feeling out and out cranky. Empaths, we are doing lots of work in our sleep at this time. The healers are bouncing out and heading over to Japan to help. That results in lots of unrestful sleep, which equals big time cranky in the morning. When I need a barometer of what is happening I look to Sarah, my super sensitive beagle mix. She’s been nocturnal at night. It’s all that energy.
  • Increased psychic ability. Visually, I’m seeing alot. That veil between worlds is pretty thin also. It’s like get a mini boost up. Opening up your heart and empathic abilities can do that.
  • Sadness. Again, natural what is happening with the events in the world. You might even feel hopeless and helpless. The media isn’t helping with any of this, and is in fact, making things worse. I just love the headlines of disaster. It’s like living with my departed grandmother all the time with all the negative thinking.

Tools or solutions for this week? Ordinarily, I’d say focus on the positive and bring in that great fairy energy. Instead, I am suggesting to go with your feelings. Just let it out. Don’t get lost in them. Know they are temporary and just feel what needs to be felt.

When the earth moves and shakes like it did, we move and shake alongside of it. We are feeling the energy of change which can be scary and ungrounding. The solution for these feelings? Create a safe, cozy place for yourself, Empath. You are the constant in your life among all the change.  Create some grounding tools and anchors to feel more steady (50 Tools for the Sensitive, tool #31 ). Nurture yourself in any way you can that’s healthy. It’s okay to cocoon right now. It’s not forever. You will emerge later.
