Animal Communication

Dogs Today magazine

On a recent trip to the Church of Barnes and Noble, I found the other article that Lorraine had wrote about the intuitive work I did helping find Bruiser, her dog, when he was lost in Costa Rica. Dogs Today OCTOBER 2007 magazine, a British magazine, had a full page spread and included an interview with an animal communicator, me! Very cool.

Do dogs emotionally release?

We took Lilibeth, our beagle, to the acupuncturist and healer yesterday. If you ever wondered if dogs release like we do from healing, they do! Dogs, I learned in a recent reading I did, release through exercise and play. They must move around to express their pain or upset, or even built-up energy. If they aren’t able to, like our Lilibeth, who has a hard time moving around from her arthritis, dogs will bark, and bark, or act out. After each healing, Lilibeth will bark and bark. I was in such panic the first time this happened. And I must say, it is very hard to hear our animals when they are screaming! She had already had her painkiller and I heard to the right to me (my Guide), that what she was releasing was emotional pain. I grabbed for our Salvia potion, which did the trick. She calmed down considerably. The last visit, Jessica and I sat with her and began doing hands-on work and Reiki. There was one shudder of Lil’s body, and she gave me a dazed look. Next thing I know, she is fast to sleep on her bed! She had released whatever was stuck inside! Just like us, our dogs have their own emotional stuff to work through that will often manifest in the body. Little by little, they deal with their stuff, learn and release, much like us.

I ask myself

Today I see at this time I am putting most of my energy out–taking care of others, sharing my work in several ways, etc. How can I replenish and take in the energy I need?

Clear the ground

Today I am feeling energetic. 🙂 I had exciting news yesterday that I may be teaching a few college art classes in the spring, and I’ve been psyched ever since! I’ve been cleaning out my closet, going through clothes, and straightening out the house. It’s a good Saturday. I am usually too busy to take care of the clearing, organizing and decluttering, much less find two socks that match, so this feels good. I didn’t realize I was receiving spiritual guidance to clean until I found a book on another blog called

The Seed Handbook by Lynne Franks, that interested me. Imagine my surprise when I read an excerpt from the book that said,

“Clearing the ground
Where you create the space and stretch your time to enable you to see your vision.
Before any garden can be seeded, the ground has to be prepared. The rocks and weeds need clearing, the earth has to be turned and the nutrients introduced.
Starting a business is the same way. You have to clear the clutter from your life, internally and externally.”

Back in the swing of things & shells

I am noticing that EVERYONE is dealing with their big patterns and issues right now. It’s a time to finally deal and clear, I suppose! It hasn’t been comfortable and it is easy to get caught up in everyone’s stuff more than usual (as I mentioned before). I am learning the fine art of detachment, which as an empath, is not always easy, but necessary.

Yesterday my smart basset girl, Emma, knocked over the Animal Cards deck and “picked out” Armadillo. Imagine my surprise when I saw that Armadillo was about boundaries. Armadillo, the cards say, teaches of creating a hard outer shell to have what you don’t want to experience bounce right off of you, and the soft inner shell was just for you! We can be open and vulnerable and all those good things yet still have that protection most of us did not have. I think we needed to be born with these outer shells!

On another note, I am enjoying very much getting back into the flow of doing readings. I am finding I am attracting all the sensitives and empaths like myself, even the animals! I just read for a sweet cat that turned out to be very empathic. Like attracts like. What I’ve learned tool-wise to help me, I am better able to turn around and help someone else. I like that.

Frustration

I am feeling general frustration at the moment. I am putting out way too much energy and not seeing my needs met. I think this happens as a pattern for me. I am continually saying “why do I have to work so hard?” What to do? My gut tells me to step back for awhile. Let all that I put out to perculate for awhile. Take time to self-nurture even for a day. I am noticing many things not working out and wondering what has happened to my once amazing gift to manifest? I read in Sanaya Roman’s great book, Creating Money, that if you don’t take the time to self-nurture and tend to your own balance you may find yourself experiencing lack. This may be the case as I’ve been working so hard.  I need to talk with my Guides tonight and see what the message is, and see what is truly being appreciated and can stay, and what I need to let go of.

Negativity–someone else’s poop

How do you know you’ve been exposed to negativity? You feel bad. Out and out bad. It can be your own worst thoughts, messages from childhood, other people’s poop, violence on tv, or even someone else’s aggressive behavior.  When I encounter negativity, whether the words were “well-meaning” or not, my head will hurt right in my psychic spot. If I ignore that feeling, the ache will increase. If the room is filled with negativity, my stomach may even hurt. Our bodies are instant barometers of what is good for us and what is bad. I love how simple it can be. For instance, a friend gives you a criticism. If it is a truth, it will resonate. Your body may tense for a moment, but then it will relax a bit in that truth. If it was someone else’s poopy disguised as help, this is how it will feel: BAM! OUCH! YUCK! You may even feel shame, bad, and you will lose energy like you are standing in quicksand. You’ve been just been doused with negativity, regardless of how well-meaning it was, your body knew the truth. Don’t make your self wrong–that feeling you had is right. Run away! Don’t walk to the nearest exit. Create a boundary this minute. Put up that wall.

My Guides taught me that it is perfectly okay to walk away and leave a room. My husband and I were once in a room with a doctor who was supposably helping our daughter. He began to speak pure drivel at one point and was not listening to us, lost in his own world. I remembered the Guides advice and a good friend that told me I can always leave to say I’m going to the bathroom. No one disputes that. I excused myself with that excuse in hand, and never came back! I headed straight to the car (after telling my husband what I was doing). If I stayed one more minute arguing with that man, I would have suffered. He didn’t care, he was oblivious.

It helps to know that many times it IS someone else replaying their own poop, so then you can detach and walk away. To the sensitive, you’ve usually picked up a bit anyway, so walking will help you detach and see what is yours and what isn’t. With the Nature Spirits advice, I made Pumpkin essence, which is great for clearing out others’ stuff after you’ve picked it up. This has been a God-send many times over.

And one more thing, always look for intentions. WHY is someone saying something to you? Is their intention good? To really help? Or is it so they feel superior? Like the “friend” who corrects your spelling when you share your intimate piece of poetry? (Again, that’s someone else’s poop).

Thinking out of the box

Today’s reminder is to think out of the box! I hadn’t realized until recently that I naturally tend to think out of the box. I thought I was like most folks. But perhaps, I’m already a little different in my line of work. Everyday my assumptions about the world and the animals are challenged and I learn something new. I like that. Old rules don’t serve me well. I tend to just try things out without thinking of the dreaded “rules”. Some rules that start with “that’s how it’s done” “that’s how it is” and the like, always feel bad to me. Perhaps, because we are meant to break through the have-done’s and try something new! We are here as the explorers to break through barriers, start a new way when the old way doesn’t work.

We just watched a beautiful series on DVD about the Earth. At the end of the series, conservation of the animals and the planet was discussed. We’re losing animals left and right to extinction and changing the planet to global warming. Time to start thinking differently, I thought, on a global level. Not easy when our government seems to have different ideas and likes to think the same way. It’s frustrating. And on a smaller scale in my own life, I see this when I posted my online gallery exhibit. I was recently presented with a list of rules how an exhibit is done. It’s a Ronni exhibit. It has its own delicious rules. No more boxes, folks. I like to look up and see a sun on my ceiling. 🙂

True colors

There’s been lots of talk lately about what color everyone is. I found this great book in a Finding Passions class this summer that classifies everyone in colors. I don’t unusually like putting folks in boxes, but I actually found this very helpful. This method makes career seeking simpler. I have found with lots of my clients that their career issues are about being a blue in an orange job, or a green in a blue environment! I often relate to this. I will find that if I am not creating art or writing that helps others I am quite bored. If I only do readings that don’t involve analyzing, providing knowledge, problem-solving or detective work, but are all counseling, I find myself missing something. Anyway, I should get a commission on these referrals. Hee hee. Here’s the link to take the quiz:

Incidently I was a green-blue. I was so low on gold and orange, I had to laugh. This said volumes to me!
