Did you know Mediums are from the devil?

A few weeks back I was informed by my father-in-law in my estranged family, that God hated mediums and this is quoted clearly in the bible. At the time, Bill was trying to relay a message I had received from a fellow medium at a workshop I took part in from his brother. The goal was to allay his Dad’s fears and give comfort by providing some answers. Instead, the man attacked the messenger.

I think about most sensitive children who notice the elephant in the room and are punished for it. This was my role most of my life. (I remember distinctly a time when I informed my mother that a guest was mad and upset when I was told this was incorrect. My mother was repeatedly embarassed by my observations, which always turned out accurate.) It’s not easy “seeing” what others don’t want you to see. But I do know that God made me this way. I’ve seen the gift as it is when I help others in their paths and brought clarity, the times I’ve saved animals’ lives with missing pieces of important information, and brought comforting messages from loved ones who weren’t really lost afterall. No, I am not serving the devil or talking to bad spirits like on television. Real, healthy good has come out of these gifts. My God is all about unconditional love and what I aspire to be one day. My God loves me and knows who I am with no judgement, and sees my gifts as what he/she gave me to help humanity.

Most sensitives grew up unaccepted for being different. It hurts when the unacceptance is not for your beliefs, but an attack on who you are. That is always about the other person’s failings–their own inner spaces they don’t want to see. (And their walls to loving).

Long ago, I had a dream that I was selling balloons to blind people, and I was pretending to be like them, blind as well. I can’t do that anymore. I will share my gifts with those who want to see and therefore, who I can assist. They are the ready ones. The rest will have different teachers, and many are not loving. And as for the unacceptance, I no longer want or need support that doesn’t accept me–all of the pieces that make up me.

What if there is no map?

I have a recurring anxiety dream. It usually looks like me on stage and expecting to perform without knowing the lines and having the script. I have a long history of enjoying being on the stage performing, so it only makes sense my mind would use this metaphor image to get the anxiety message across. Being unprepared is a common lament for sensitive people. I read somewhere that introverts need plenty of preparation and time before they “perform” out in the world.

Many of my friends and family are finding themselves thrown into the world without the benefit of a script or map. Lives are turned upside down, people are dying and leaving the planet, and foundations are crumbling. What was up is down, and vice versa.

My Guides had given me the message that the world has lost its shield while at the same time, we are all evolving and changing at such a fast rate and the foundations are breaking down, it’s amazing we all don’t have vertigo!

So, what if the rules are all changing?

I remember long ago how I used to work. Set goals, create a vision, and then climb that mountain. I’d “make” it happen. Well, I thought I did. I usually fell short when I did this method. There was usually a lot of headaches and a great deal of pushing. Now that things are changing so fast, we are forced to live moment to moment.

The other day I had the most success simply following my inner guidance…you guessed it, moment to moment. I found myself among friends, giving readings in a situation I had no idea I would be doing, creating real positive change for the folks in front of me. Now, I didn’t blindly jump into this. That morning I said some prayers asking for community, for folks I could help so I could use my gifts, and to feel that deep appreciation. The day was a win-win and an immediate answer to a prayer. I just listened after asking, and then did the actions I felt really pulled to do. Miraculously, there was no pushing, just a great deal of trust to just jump onto the stage.

It’s hard to change. It’s hard to switch a dynamic of how you do things. It feels a bit like always writing with my right hand, and now I need to use my left. I feel awkward and fumbly. I’ll probably resort to using my right hand when I feel most uncomfortable, my handwriting may even change, but hopefully, I will get used to the new way of doing things.

Next time: What the wrong direction feels like.

Sensitive tip and tool Wednesday

My new feature is offering a psychic tip every Wednesday to help fellow sensitives navigate today’s crazy energies.

Today’s tip and tool is Taking care of your body

With sensitive abilities usually comes sensitive bodies. What this means is, we are over-sensitive to the environment, which most others–who are turned off–naturally block out. Be extra gentle and loving with yourself. If it is an extra hot day, avoid going out the middle of the afternoon. If it’s a sunny day, wear lots of sun screen. It’s not over-babying, it’s nurturing. See self care in a whole new way–a better way to take care of you, because you are worth it.

For a reading or private lesson, go to my Readings page here. Care of the Sensitive online class starts the end of August. Sign up here. And look for my new ebook, Help! I’m Sensitive. Details coming.

I’m certified! In mediumship, that is

Took a fabulous workshop this weekend with Charles Virtue and Tina Daly, and I am now certified as a medium.

My big draw in taking the class was to help myself and my students. So many of us who are sensitive also have the ability to detect and communicate with spirits in the room. Having a way to “shut it off” and create boundaries is a necessary skill. So many of us have this ability, it is amazing that we aren’t taught as children how to use it alongside tying your shoes and learning the alphabet.

Although for years I communicated with animals that have passed in my practice, I hadn’t realized that I was constantly talking to my dead people relatives. This became apparent the day of the workshop. There were so many people in my bathroom talking to me and bothering me, apparently excited about the class and being heard.  When there are many spirits around like that, I often feel totally wired, which feels like nervous, crazy energy. In the workshop we learned a way to create some serious boundaries and that night was one of the first I felt quiet in my head and alone with just my thoughts and feelings.

I will keep you posted if I do go in the direction of readings at this time. In the meantime, I am offering Animal Mediumship online class that starts in August now with some new added tools. Details here.

What is a psychic empath?

What exactly is a psychic empath? You know you are a psychic empath if:

  • You walk into a room and you can feel if the air is heavy or light, if there was an argument in the room, or if someone is sad. Sometimes, it can be overwhelming.
  • You walk down the mall and you feel unbalanced or unsteady from the barrage of others’ feelings and emotions. (I used to call this my Walmart headache because I felt it every time I went there to shop).
  • You know your dog or cat is feeling stressed or sad because you can feel it. Sometimes, you confuse the feeling as your own. You may even feel other people’s ailments.
  • You may have a sensitive stomach, or have reactive skin to your environment.
  • Too much activity in your environment=crazy feelings inside you, nervousness, frustration, and major ADD.
  • You can merge with a person, plant or animal, and see from its perspective.
  • You tell yourself or someone has told you, you are too sensitive and need to “toughen up.”

Bottom line definition: psychic empaths experience the world from what they feel. And what they feel includes an enormous psychic information ready to be tapped into. We see below the layers.

Top 5 Flower Essences for Empaths

I’m offering a new service from the Garden with the help of my Fairies. For years creating the Fairy Field Guide, I researched and made over 100 flower and nature essences. I also did readings for people. Swinging back into the world and out of my cozy cocoon, I am offering my online classes again (Flower Beginner Class teaches flower essences) and now offer the service of a custom flower essence combo with a mini message or explanation of what is in the essence (on the Readings page). Check out and sign up for the service here.

I am often asked what flower essences are really good for Empaths. Here’s my favorites:

  1. Calendula/Marigold. I discovered this one with the help of the Fairies. It balances out what’s your stuff and what is others.
  2. Yarrow. Any kind of Yarrow is great for the Sensitive. It’s protection. Creates that nice bubble around you so you don’t feel bombarded from the world.
  3. Lavender. This flower was made for the Sensitive! Its healing qualities buffers your nervous system. We take so much in even in the course of a day. All the layers that are happening we see and feel. At the end of the day you need an unruffling.
  4. Any kind of Rose essence. Roses carry a higher vibration so that means, they will uplift you and carry you up with them. That’s nice.
  5. Salvia. Salvia is great for emotional calming. Emotions go along with high sensitivity, so I like this one for anytime I need calming down. Sarah, my teagle beagle loves this one during her upsets.

Incidently, I can make a combo essence of all above just for you, if you are so guided. Be sure to check out the Care of the Sensitive essences also on this site.

All these essences can be bought at my shop, incidently. Visit my Flower Essences for the Sensitive page to order these essences and see all the essences I offer.

Mental Illness vs. psychic ability

Do you know the difference?

I felt this piece of info was important to share when it comes to psychic ability.

After parenting an adopted child for five years who had tons of both, I slowly learned what was the difference, and that mental illness did not look how I thought it would. I always thought illness would be very obvious–a bit like what we see on television–the bag lady or the man in the white strait jacket. What we thought was charming quirkiness in “Jennifer” early on, was clear-cut signs of mental illness that everyone poo-poo’ed away (many for their own agendas). Once adolescence kicked in, we had full-blown “lots of things”. And honey, that was not ADHD.

There is hearing voices of Guides/Angels or spirits in the room, and then there is hearing voices of your other personalities, split off parts, or out-and-out schizophrenia. A good indicator these are not Guides? The voices aren’t helpful. These voices may even try to get a rise out of you to get you upset (this could even be earthbound spirits. They like to do that).  Guides/Angels are always loving and when you hear their guidance you feel a sense of rightness and an inner knowing. They are much like a good psychic reading. You don’t have a reading and hear “you are going to die!”  The psychic will tell you that you need to be more careful when you drive. Guides/Angels will never say nasty things about other people or tell you to hurt them in any way. Their drive is to help you have understanding and compassion for others. (The exception is a departed relative visiting who might give advice. Usually, you can identify the voice and how they always acted when they were alive.)

“Jennifer” would talk to voices in her room often and claim they were Guides, but I saw and felt nothing, except, I would have the beginning of a migraine when I entered. (Keep in mind though, earthbounds are attracted to high energy emotional states. I think she did have a few entities attached on top of everything else. Henceforth, my headaches).

Folks with personality disorders are really hard to peg as mentally ill. That’s the tough part. Borderlines (called RAD when they are young) will take your life onto a rollercoaster with one moment idolizing you when you do what they want, and the next despising you for not complying. They are also masters of triangulation pitting one person against another just for the drama of it, because chaos feels safe. On the surface, they are as charming as can be, and always who they think you want them to be. But without treatment or help, their lives are a continuous, bad amusement park ride and you don’t need to join them, or risk developing your own mental illnesses.

When I first came to the Sedona area, one of the first things I did was readings at a healing fair. My first customer was a schizophrenic who wanted to know about the implants attached to his head controlled by the government. I did give him the benefit of the doubt after watching years of X-files, but his wife later confirmed he had mental illness. There was also a girl who claimed she was a reincarnated Jesus (lots of those). What scares me is many folks like this need medication or psychological help and not a psychic reading. Sedona is notorious for attracting all kinds of people who want healing. I got an instant education what to look out for.

If you do hear voices that are not helpful, find your moods seriously erratic, go get some help.* Get educated. Our bodies and minds are so complicated. Sometimes it’s just a hormone imbalance! We all have the ability to go a little off kilter in the most stressful times. (I’ve got a bit of OCD inherited from my grandmother. Thanks Nanny!)

And if you have more of a psychic intruder bothering you? Being a sensitive/psychic you could open some doors you don’t need to open to outside unhelpful energies attracted to your bright light. Learn clearing exercises and find someone who specializes in escorting them out.  I always call in Archangel Michael for the small jobs.

*Thanks to Anna who commented so I can clarify. Hearing negative voices telling you to hurt people or yourself  (not a good thing), WITH other signs, such as, very disordered, illogical  or paranoid thinking, delusions, dissociation, cutting, emotional instability, etc. can definitely be a sign of mental illness. Many of us who are mediums, can pick up entities that are negative and can affect us. See earthbound spirits above.

Today’s quote & announcement

This is Beauty from my character series. Beauty has reminders about self esteem.

Beauty says, “If you are feeling invisible to the world, sure enough, it’s a warning. You are beginning to leave yourself and becoming invisible and unimportant to you.”

Here is where you will find the school’s classes, etc. For those of you looking for readings, I don’t have them posted and have been shying away from them lately. If you are a regular, give me an email.
