In the garden diary

How I found my Fairy Castle…
My life, as I knew it, fell apart at the foundation five months ago. I won’t go into the details, but most of the trauma involved adopting an older child with problems we were not prepared for or trained to handle as she aged and a lot of other really traumatic stuff and big time breakdowns. I had asked my Guides and Helpers to help me find a place I’d feel safe and comfortable where I could heal, as well as, for my animals. I knew only what I wanted to feel in this new home and some of the attributes. When I did fall onto this place, through a series of steps, it wasn’t at all what I expected! I’m a Jersey princess by heart, and the place was a cute, long, mobile. It was in a rather rural area when I had said I wanted more city. But when I saw the yard, my heart opened to a width it hadn’t had been at in a long while. It was clearly love at first sight. And now, fairly situated into our new home, I have to say I love it with all its lovely quirkiness. So, the message is to be open to what you want however it comes, seek out the attributes and feelings of what you want and trust, trust, trust. I am grateful for this gift from the Fairies. (Thanks to Shaeri and Jerry, of course!) To read more go to the diary.

It’s a good time for Fairies

I’m excited that the great gals organizing the Damsels in Destress retreat asked me back. Last year, I had a great time hanging out with my BFF, Wendy. Imagine my surprise when they told me that they didn’t want a lecture on animal communication, but Fairies! They read about my Fairy School and wanted me to share all my info on that. Interestingly enough, right now I am working on a new proposal for the Fairy Field Guide. Maybe it’s time now for the Fairies. We’ve all lost our joy, our spunk, our deep connection to ourselves. It makes sense.

I am putting together a new website for the Fairy Online School. Keep reading here for details. However I am guided…

IF:Pattern

We’ve had a crazy time with it lately with our special needs kid and our messed up PT cruiser.  But, I still wanted to squeeze in an IF submission. Please also note our new Color Healing with the Fairies for Creatives and Healers online class-sign-ups now forming. Healing artists take note!

map2For Pattern, I chose one of my favorite art pieces. It’s the Map of the Fairy world I use on my website and in online classes. It’s filled with patterns! It’s a distorted bird eye’s view of the healing, natural world. It started out as an experiment in gouache paint.

the white unicorn

Butterflydoctor2

(Butterfly doctor by Ronni a. Hall)

Yesterday, at Adrienne’s Fairy and Angel chat on Ning, we met a unicorn. It was a powerful invocation led by Adrienne which led me face to face with a white horse with horn. The unicorn’s message was that my heart was blocked and that most of my Guides have been working overtime to reopen that space in my chest!

It’s been a very tough summer. Our RAD teen has been at cross-purposes with our goals to be a happy family. She really only wants control, not love, at this time. The mostly sweet little girl is replaced by something foreign and her actions and words have done a number on us.  So, meeting this unicorn with this message seemed timely and true.

This morning I woke from a dream visit with my Mom. She reminded me to take care of my inner child, the one who has been bullied and ignored through most of the summer.

I had a special Mom. She often gave me small presents that my inner child loves, well up until I was older and grown and in my 30s. I tried to parent my daughter the same way giving her gifts and toys for special occasions. With her therapists lately she complains how the bag of clothes I gave her were not good enough and I should know what she likes, or the book I tried to give her (Sark) I thought she’d like, was me forcing her to read something. (RAD teens hate to be nurtured or parented unless they feel in control). What really hurt was when most of her “stuff” I gave her through those years were put into the yard sale we had.

I had to think…was I also rejecting my own inner parenting to myself? Was I telling myself what I was doing wasn’t enough? What I was giving not enough? Was I even spending time with my inner child? Who, unlike my daughter, would actually appreciate and enjoy it?

I think the white unicorn represents our inner child’s power and glory.  When we deny it and act too adult, we lose our power. We lose our special light inside.

Go embrace your inner unicorn! Seek out the fun part of you. The one that loves stickers and tiny toys. It’s the place to start for the wounded heart.

For my long absence at IF, I present Magnify. Many of our fears are monsters magnified from inside of us. “Befriend the feared monsters inside of you and bring them into the light.”

If it’s heavy, it’s old

Got a great piece of advice yesterday in a fairy reading I did. The Fairy Guides are so typically simple with their advice, yet helpful, I always have to laugh. They said, if you have a heavy feeling, like you are carrying around a great deal, with high emotions to boot, it’s old stuff you’ve acquired, usually from childhood. You are seeing things from the eyes of a child and from that emotional place. That is why the emotions associated with the feeling is so exaggerated. Good advice.

Flower essences for sensitive

Depression and the Sensitive

Sensitive folk are prone to depression. Many times the emotion that registers as “depression” is a conglomerate of all the negative cast-offs from everyone else! As empaths and sensitives, we can reach out too much, be too compassionate and open, and next thing you know, you are carrying around other folks’ stuff. (This can even happen from watching the news or soap operas!) You will know you are doing this when the mood hits you like a brick. One minute you are feeling fine and the next you wonder why we don’t all jump off the roof. It will be that sudden. And the depression will feel like a cloud or a veil covering you that you can’t shake off. Once you notice this, you can get under from the cloud of others’ doom. Try:

  • clearing it out! In my classes, I recommend doing some sort of exercise, taking a bath, or using certain flower essences to clear out gently.
  • go sit in Nature and ground it all out
  • smudge with a smudge stick the hell out of yourself; if it isn’t yours, you will notice a change right away.
