Ghost vs. Spirits and Enabling the Stuck

I love watching Ghost Hunter shows. It’s a little fascination of mine, and, I even was able to go on a ghost-hunting exposition, and was even lucky enough to be a part of filming a ghost-hunting show recently. But my perception or opinion has changed possibly from those experiences, and definitely  from watching a low-grade Ghost Hunting show.

My local town, Camp Verde, (very, very rural), has a scaled down version of Walmart called Alco. It’s there I saw a copy of a Ghosthunting collection of shows I had to have.

I couldn’t wait to rip off the plastic from the DVD and dive in. I was disappointed. Sure, there was good footage of ghostly experiences, but it was also very dark in nature that upset me. But what really got me going was one featured show about a haunted abandoned hotel. A ghost hunting crew was led around and introduced by a local woman who conducts tours. She retold a story how the ghosts there flew her across the room one time. She talked about the ghosts as her friends and was their official voice as a medium. She knew their habits and preferences. Almost had an intimate knowledge of each one.

Does this feel right to you?

If I was a soul stuck back in tragedy and another time, wandering around lonely and upset, would I want to be stuck like that? Or, worse, be someone’s entertainment? In many of these shows, they capture spirit voices trying to communicate on tape and then they get all excited over evidence and leave the poor soul stuck there! They’ve opened the door to communication and just left. I can’t imagine having an animal client who trusts me enough to talk to me and tell me how he/she is feeling, and then I just walk away! Talk about abandonment issues.

Earthbounds or ghosts are those who haven’t crossed into the light yet. They’ve pretty much wandered, hung out, not budged. Some are stuck by other ghosts. Some, by guilt. Others, by confusion and trauma. Spirits, like my departed mom or your relatives, have made it to the light/heaven and communicate from that plane or space.  There’s a distinct difference. When we go on ghost-hunting trips, we are usually communicating with ghosts who didn’t cross over.

In my one disastrous ghost-hunting visit with a local ghost group, we communicated with a ghost who was a resident of a hotel. It saddened me that she didn’t move on, partly because she was lonely, but mostly because she liked all the attention from those who stayed at the hotel and even from the ghost-hunting crew. This gave me a new perspective. It was the like the hotel workers were enabling her “stuck-ness,” much like the woman in the ghost hunting video did.

What I thought was funny at the time, was the group asked really strange questions that related way, way back when she first died from an illness. Even though the female ghost was out of body for so long that was no longer relevant to her.

A lot of ghosts that are supposed to haunt places–I think of nearby Jerome–are not even there anymore! They moved on. Maybe even reincarnated. But I guess you can’t sell hotel rooms without ghostly legends, eh?

And why do we need so much “evidence” that ghosts exist? To the sensitive, it’s a no-brainer. We don’t need proof like that. We see, feel and hear it.

I guess we need to approach the whole ghost thing as you would the living. If I were to be totally stuck, still wearing clothes from ten years ago, haven’t progressed at all in my spiritual evolution, I sure would want my friends to get me some help so I could move on in my life. Why not these ghosts? It sure isn’t healthy to be stuck in your old hotel room for hundreds of years reliving your horrible death from illness and starvation. Talk about PTSD!

Next time you encounter a ghost or earthbound, ask him or her, What do you need to move on? And just like with people in body, know when to give up if they aren’t ready to do so. We all know someone who is literally stuck in their own mind merry-go-round.

Visiting Dead Moms

My brother-in-law sent this photo over today. He and my sister went and visited my Mom’s grave in Jersey and he took a photo of the grave marker. Of course, seeing this gave me a huge cry, but I no longer feel deep sadness. I know she’s nearby.

I had an interesting experience the other day regarding Mom. I have a touch-base cell phone. This means my phone likes to dial people on its own or go to odd pages when I throw it down into my purse. It’s a quirky, little thing that I usually like to scream at. I was worrying about a situation with a loved one when I threw down my phone onto the table and left the room. When I came back, I looked down to see that the phone had opened up to the Calendar page to a date: May 5th. I felt shivers run through me. I will never forget that day. It was my Mom’s graduation to spirit. She was letting me know things would be okay.

Losing a mom at any age is a humbling experience. It’s a loss that goes down to the core and you need a great deal of time to heal and readjust. Even if you didn’t get along or you may have had a horrendous mother, it still shocks you and rearranges you. My mom had her faults, but she was a good mom who was very nurturing to me. I’m thinking that’s why she visits a lot; she’s still caring for me.

My mom has been making many spirit appearances especially in the last few years since I went through the Trauma of 2009. I think she knows I still need a Mom. In my meditations, she makes herself known by sending a mind picture of an owl. (She collected owl figurines). She has her own perspective on things, she’s not all-wise, but she still wants to help.

How do I know they are actual visits and not my desires and hopes? Or worse, these visits are the devil playing tricks on me?

For the first question, the answer is “I’m psychic. Duh.”

No, seriously, after years and years of developing my psychic, natural abilities, I can tell what is a spirit visit and what is my mind. With a spirit visit, you actually feel a presence in the room with you. I often get a “spirit hug” or my ear rings. The air shifts too. I will have an emotional reaction that bubbles up from within me. Mom feels less corporal or in a body since she’s been “over there” for quite a long time. And I can’t MAKE these visits occur or force her to give me answers. It doesn’t seem to work that way for me. We have quickie conservations mostly. I think if I was really out of it and in deep meditation I’d have more interactions with her. My mind wouldn’t be so in the way. The dream state has been best for that kind of communication; that’s where we usually hang out together.

Oh, and the second question about the devil, I bring this one up because many folks having psychic visits, go straight into fear from their religious teachings. That’s not helpful and it’s uninformed. My Mom isn’t some waking zombie from the dead visiting me, and if the devil wants to influence and trick me he already met me in the Trauma of 2009. He doesn’t need to come to me as my dead mother.

What is the biggest lesson or gift with my mom visits, is that constant reminder that we don’t lose that connection to whom we love. Love, like energy, doesn’t die. It more like floats. There’s just different dimensions or levels to bounce around in, and when I’m really open or in tuned, I can hear, or feel, or see.  At least, that’s my experience.

What’s yours?

Book Review: Paranormal

Paranormal: My Life in Pursuit of the Afterlife by Raymond Moody, MD, and Paul Perry (HarperOne, 2012)

I was asked by TLC Book Tours to review this book in my blog. Since I love anything on the subject of the paranormal, and have read Dr. Moody’s previous book, Life After Life, I jumped at the chance.

The book’s title is misleading as it is more about Dr. Moody’s life-long pursuit of proving that the near-death experience is a normal happening in the human existence vs. “paranormal.”

This is a memoir that begins with him explaining his fascination with the subject after being told of an uncle’s childhood dog that appeared to come back to life after being hit by truck, but later reappeared in the flesh.

His was a loving, close-knit family that encouraged his curiosity but was later disrupted when his father reappeared after being sent away to war. It’s his father’s reappearance that started his fight between his father’s world, with a surgeon’s mind of only logic and facts, vs. the exploration of the unseen and seemingly impossible.

Another important key in his quest was the loss of his beloved, nurturing grandfather, who later has a stroke and was unable to fully communicate or support his grandson as he once did.

How I differ in many of the reviewers on this tour, is I, like many of my blog readers, have a deep knowing that there is an afterlife. I don’t need to be convinced. I’ve had multiple visits from “spirits” throughout my life starting when I was very young, and the seemingly impossible is my norm, with each day and each exploration opening up the doorway of perception to what is real. I didn’t read this book as a skeptic, because I have this ability. So, instead, I read his life tale cheerleading him on that he indeed would find lots of proof of the afterlife he could document and share with the rest of the world, and he does, through his many scientific experiments.

His beginning experiments were met with enthusiasm, but the more he advanced in his career he ventured into more riskier or more “woo-woo” areas such as crystal-scrying, that led to using mirrors to meet with deceased loved ones, that  much of the medical community, especially his logic-bearing, rigid father concluded he had lost his mind. He had veered too out of the mainstream for them to accept.

Paramount to his struggle throughout his life, and what I thought was ironic, was that the medical community he worked with solely based their conclusions on logic, and not any form of true intuition or perception, therefore, they missed the crucial diagnosis he had of a dangerous thyroid illness that kept him ill most of his life!  But it was this same illness that allowed him to eventually have true, first-hand understanding of his life-long work into the near-death experience.

I enjoyed the book which held my interest. It is a little slow-going at first as I was anxious to jump right into his near-death work, but knowing his early beginnings contributed and helped me understand his overall story better.

Walking away from reading it, I did have the thought that his pursuit for later contact with passed loved ones was on the surface a desire to help those that are grieving, but maybe more of a personal desire to finally heal that personal wound of experiencing many loved ones in childhood who were there in physical body but unattainable/untouchable in spirit.

Thank you to Trish for allowing me to review this book. To continue on in the book tour and read what others have reviewed go to the master schedule here.

Reconnecting to Everyday Joy and Miracles this week

Back in 2005, I started Fairy Online School. I was burnt out and tired in my intuitive biz from all the sadness I encountered, and I was going through lots of psychic, expansion changes. I needed support for my sensitivity and quite simply, a little joy to raise my spirits back up. In came that delicious fairy energy, and with it, my love for Nature, and the discovery of my first flower essence I created to heal.

What exactly is fairy energy? I believe we all have it deep down inside. It’s that joyful, playful part we had as children. It’s interested in discovery and gets excited over finding an inch worm on a leaf. It’s grounded in Nature and in our environment and our senses. It’s also that little bit of silly that has you laughing at inappropriate times when you need the humor the most.

This time of year, I always think of my mom, who crossed over in 1995, but is still a pretty active, visiting spirit.  When I was growing up, my mom shared with me the little delights in the world–collecting tiny toys for the holidays; having a hidden stash of candy to dip into; noticing the picture in the clouds; following  that cute, little inch worm on the leaf; and enjoying a good story. It’s the little things we can focus on to bring back the joy into our lives to keep us afloat when everything else in our world is crazy, and boy, life sure has been crazy!

I told my good friend the other day, if this is really end times, I want to go out drawing, snuggling my dogs, eating pizza and cupcakes every day! That’s the fairy way.

Fairy Online School is the marriage between that re-connection we have with the spiritual world that is filled with miracles, awe, and support, and the creating and enjoying with fairy energy as we learn!

I invite you to join us with the many from all over the world reconnecting to miracles, to those we think we lost, to new friends of support this Friday when Fairy Online School starts its new session. Develop your natural, intuitive abilities while having fun, and most importantly, reconnect to you! Head on over to this page to reserve your space in the classes of your choice that start Friday. (Go sign up for my newsletter, Fairy Blessings, and you receive a special fairy discount on classes).

Favorite Ghosty, Spirit Posts

Halloween is fast approaching, and when I think of Halloween I always think of ghosts and spirit visits. Of course! Fun huh? Obviously, spirit communication is a fascination and a passion for me. It may be for you, too. So, here’s my favorite past posts on the subject to enjoy:

Are Mediums part of the devil? I’m on my soapbox again

I have some things in life that get me going. The big one is ignorance. Ignorance is lacking knowledge. What bothers me the most is when someone chooses to stay without knowledge even though it is provided to them.

I’ve seen this before, folks actually believing that if you have mediumship abilities that you are working in kahoots with the devil. Oh, for goodness sake! Are you serious? No, really?

This is an awful belief for the many, many of us who are intuned to the spiritual world. What are you supposed to do, put a lampshade on your head and pretend you don’t feel or see the spirit in the room? That’s like ignoring the elephant in the room.
It’s a  little hard to arrange your furniture.

I watched a cute movie last night about an alien PAUL who gets stranded on earth. There is a funny scene where a woman who is strongly bible-based in her teachings is faced with the alien and she stares right at him and says he doesn’t exist basically because her teachings say he doesn’t.

Since I was six years old, I could sense spirits in the room. It was rather scary because I’d be screaming and my mom would rush into the room and see nothing but I sure could. It wasn’t an ability I embraced or felt support on how to deal with in any way. What a horrible belief, then, to say that I am from the devil or working with the dark because I have this ability! Could we create more fear? That’s a rather conditional acceptance. Much like if you were gay, or divorced, or short, or tall, or whatever…are any of these wrong? If God made us, we are what we are, and God thinks we are just fine as we are and must know about our abilities.

When we do mediumship or talk to spirits, we are not in any way replacing our connection or communication to God. Like we even could if we are a part of God. Sure, you can talk to bad or dark spirits if you aren’t careful, just like you can talk to dark or bad people in your every day life!

You know, anything can be of “the devil.” I can have an ability for anything and can twist it to work for the dark or the bad. It’s my intention or how I use my abilities. If I use my mediumship abilities to hurt people and take advantage of them, yes, that’s not a good thing; that’s hurtful. But it’s an ability to see or feel and it can help give someone help or closure or continued relationship. That’s a miracle. That’s all good. Miracles and good are from the light, not the dark. God is all about miracles.

My bigger question is, what are folks afraid of when they ask this question? What’s really happening? Are they questioning their teachings? Are they afraid of what they may hear or discover? Are they just not ready? Do they need the world or life to fit into a small box so they feel safe? Then we honor where they are and slowly back away.We are all here learning different things with different understandings at different levels.

My concern is more for the beginning and lost natural mediums out there who don’t need to feel like they are ostracized and wrong for who they are. It’s just an ability you have like being able to sing well, or dance. You can just see or feel or hear. You’re evolving and growing. The world has many layers and dimensions and you’re just picking up on that.Your blinders are being taken off.

And next time I pick up on my Mom visiting and floating nearby, I am going to thank God over and over again for this gift he/she gave me so I can have a continued relationship with the woman who meant so much to me.

Ronni’s Psychic Tip: ear ringing

Spirit activity has been very busy lately. What I am seeing with myself and my friends and clients is an increased psychic ability. Blame the solar flares perhaps, but I do have one theory. What if we are succeeding at removing so much of our “stuff” that was in the way of our abilities? Perceiving was always there, but our vision was fogged over. I like that idea. We’re actually doing a good job, not another thing we need to improve.

Which leads me to this week’s psychic tip. Have you had any ear ringing? Sometimes it’s your Angels popping in to give you a message. Other times, it’s spirit making a visit. Yesterday, I had quite a bit of ringing. Finally I yelled, “What do you want?” It’s best to be more polite and cordial in these situations. I took the time out to tune in and see what I got. Usually, a face will pop into my head mentally or a thought to identify the caller. Sometimes, the spirit will just be delivering a message and you may not be sure who it’s from except to feel it’s a he or a she. That happened yesterday. I was just yelled at for not drinking enough water.

Of course, ear ringing can be you have water in your ear from swimming the day before, or you have a food allergy. Psychic ear ringing is usually sporadic and sudden and you have a gut feeling a presence  is nearby.

Spirit contact, Lorraine’s books & Pine

BOOKS.

Lorraine Chittock sent over two of her books that I am mentioned in. So exciting! Dogs without Borders and On A Mission from Dog. Both books look beautiful. I’ve already started reading and the tales of Lorraine and her dogs’ adventures are fascinating. What a cool woman. It was  helpful to read of her reactions to the reading I did for her and what a client experiences. It’s obvious there are so many invisible hands helping out in a reading providing information. Check out her site here to order.

ARIZONA PINE.

Arizona Pine essence is now available! This is the one to help you shift those beliefs about deserving. I really dig this essence and how helpful it is. It is powerful at first and brings beliefs up. Hang in there. It then shifts it rather lovingly. Tree support is so important right now as we experience many emotional shifts. Go to the Essences for the Sensitive page to order.

SPIRIT CONTACT.

Yesterday, had a cool experience. In meditation, my belated Foxy visited. And perhaps, for the first time, I felt her touch me. She’s been a very active Guide for Bill the last year and she comes in to help me often. I felt her touch my toe! I thought, at first, having such an analytical mind that it was a sudden toe spasm, but I do know in a reading everything that happens is information. The more I noticed the toe touch and said that I did out loud, the more I felt it. I then felt my other toe tickle. When I tuned in she said she wanted my attention and was excited! Finally, I told her to stop touching my toe, that I’d listen to the messages, and it instantly stopped.  Cool. It’s like an episode of Ghosthunters. Most of the info I get is in feeling or hearing, but rarely does a spirit touch me (except for the hugs I have mentioned before in this blog). Have you ever had that experience?

SHAMELESS PLUG.

Speaking of spirits, I love the class I wrote, Talking to Angels, Guides and Dead People. It’s fun yet informative. Now’s the time to sign up for the class starts in May. Head on over to the FAIRY ONLINE SCHOOL page for details.

FAIRY DAY.

Stop by my blog on May 1st. It’s fairy day. Oooooh. There might be some surprises.

I’m off to play in the garden. This is supposed to be my day off. Yeah, right.

Spirit and Angel Hugs

Yesterday I was feeling sad and reflecting on a problem I had, and I felt a presence to the right of me say, “It will be okay. It will work out.” I then felt a spirit hug: yummy chills up and down my body. I love that!

Because I like to teach and share my experiences, I did what every detective and scientist would do. I analyzed what happened.

Was the voice inside my head like my own thought or outside my head? No, I’m not schizophrenic and hear voices, so it did come into my head like when I experience telepathy with the animals. It was more a foreign thought then my own. I was feeling sad and working on my site before this visit message, and that is where my focus was. I wasn’t thinking positively.

I experimented later on–forcing a thought to come through. It was like mind constipation. It sure didn’t flow. I also noticed that my head went quiet and I felt alone in the room vs. when I heard the message.

In my classes, I often have students practice the “rubber ball” technique. Students are divided into teams of two and practice sending with their minds different images of different colors, like a rubber ball. Students do a terrible job when they are trying so hard. No one receives any correct images. And forcing to send an image so forcefully creates so much psychic static no one can hear.

Spirit or Angel? I’d have to say Spirit. Spirit guides and friends are those who have passed and we have loved. Angel messages, for me, feel more behind me, feel large and encompassing. Spirits feel like they are in the room with me and communicate through telepathy or thoughts. I can feel if they are feminine or masculine. If I had tuned in more and asked, the spirit may have told me who they were, but it was a quick visit.

Your Spirit Guides can serve as guardian angels. I know mine do.

Have you had a spirit or angel hug during a visit?

Review of Afterlives of the Rich and Famous

It’s Thursday, that means, Review! Today I review:

Afterlives of the Rich and Famous by Sylvia Browne

I have a hidden passion, or maybe just guilty pleasure of reading tabloids like People magazine and Entertainment Weekly. I love to see what the celebs are up to, and especially like to see their humanity and how they are very much like the rest of us with problems, spiritual lessons and all. Therefore, I jumped at the chance to review Sylvia Browne’s new book, which has great bios on stars who have recently crossed over to the Other Side, including one of my personal favorites, Brittany Murphy. How are they doing now? Have they found happiness or healing on the Other Side? What did they learn while they were here? That’s the premise of her new book.

I enjoyed the intro which includes a breakdown of what makes up the world of the Other Side and what steps we go through when we return, as I love all info about the afterlife.  As with many of Sylvia’s books, I did differ with some details or facts she presents including her definition of “soulmates,” that we have only one Guide and I’ve experienced several, and a few other facts.  That can be explained as our paths and psychic experiences are as individual as our thumbprints and therefore, our perceptions or knowings are different. Even those who have had near-death experiences described their time in heaven differently.

I read with interest the bios of each hand-picked celebrity whose tales of life and then demise were told. I was like the kid in the candy store indulging on a giant lollipop taking in facts I had read before, and some I didn’t know.

Sylvia was taught that we all have life themes that we came in to explore. I had a hard time choosing which one resonated with me, my mind jumping around from “psychic” to “caretaker,” “rescuer,” and then “artistic pursuits,” and wondered why there wasn’t one marked “teacher” as I know is one of my missions. So far, my life hasn’t easily fallen neatly into any specific boxes, and I don’t think there is a simple formula that we all follow. It seems I had several themes and “to do’s” on my list to learn this time around, but it was fun to read about each celebrity’s themes chosen for them.

I haven’t always been a fan of Sylvia’s hard-ass style on delivering messages and have been upfront with that opinion. I did enjoy her book on dreams and recommend it as a resource in my Talking to Angels, Guides and Dead People class. I enjoyed the down-to-earth style of the writing this time around, but I did have a hard time with a large portion of this book.

As a teacher, I push that everyone can communicate with their Guides and doesn’t need a middleman. Mediums, like myself, simply can assist or get things rolling. From direct experience talking to or feeling your Guides, consciously recognizing their guidance, you become a believer. You feel that truth of what they say because you develop a trust and see their messages validated in your life. The messages of how the celebrities are doing on the Other Side are transcripted from information channeled from Francine, Sylvia’s longstanding Guide. Francine’s summaries on each celebrity can’t be backed by any kind of validation, which made it hard for my logical mind to embrace.  I don’t know Francine. I haven’t worked with this Guide directly for years like Sylvia has. I am sure she is highly trustworthy, but my mind still couldn’t grasp it. I’m not on the Other Side to concur the details she gives. To my mind, the recaps of where they are now could have been wish-for fantasies or made-up stories that we would want to hear. I would have embraced it more if, perhaps,  Sylvia retold mediumship readings she did with the relatives of the celebrities. Then there would be a logical psychic connection between relative and the crossed-over, and instant validation of the information or facts coming through from the left-behind brother or spouse. Instead, it felt like the heresay in People magazine, “So and so saw our celebrity having lunch with big time movie star and is rumored to have said…” I just couldn’t make that blind leap.

It was fun to read as a guilty pleasure, and if I simply saw the book as another tabloid report, took in the details about the afterlife that I enjoy, then it was an entertaining read.

Thanks to Trish for giving me the opportunity to review this book for Ronni’s Psychic Room.
