One of my favorite missions is empowering women. Many of the lessons I’ve learned working with Guides and Angels have been messages on how to nurture or encourage myself. IF:Cocoon
For IF, I thought of my Barriers and Protection gown. I wish I had it sewn for real. Nowadays, everyone I know is going through major stuff and could really use a cocoon. Ironically, I just wrote about needing a safe place in my previous blog post.
I’ve been really diggin’ creating my Fairy Goddess Gowns and making custom Goddess Gown drawings. It must be the influence of watching so much Project Runway previous series. I’m currently on Season 6 in my Netflix rotation. I find that I can express my deepest part of me–another way to access my intuition–through these drawings, and often find telling symbolism I missed way after I’ve drawn.
Honoring Foxy
A year ago on January 31st, my dear friend and angel, Foxy Cleopatra crossed over. In honor of her today, I post these pictures. She has visited many times through this very tough year. Crap, if I knew the year was going to be that hard, I would have went with her! Gratefully, 2009 is over. She was a wonderful teacher, friend, and companion and miss her physical presence.

IF:Flying
It’s a repeat for some, I created it for “forgotten,” but I really like this piece and it fits the topic well of flying.
It’s a good reminder for all of us: we are not as powerless as we think.
IF:Pattern
We’ve had a crazy time with it lately with our special needs kid and our messed up PT cruiser. But, I still wanted to squeeze in an IF submission. Please also note our new Color Healing with the Fairies for Creatives and Healers online class-sign-ups now forming. Healing artists take note!
For Pattern, I chose one of my favorite art pieces. It’s the Map of the Fairy world I use on my website and in online classes. It’s filled with patterns! It’s a distorted bird eye’s view of the healing, natural world. It started out as an experiment in gouache paint.
Weird art therapy
Getting back into my art, I turned to painting and drawing yesterday. I was amazed at how much “stuff” was lying underneath the surface. Painting is a brave endeavor. The mere act releases a ton. But what really freaked me out was when I began drawing, a character emerged. A creepy, freaky character I named Beauty. Far from my usual upbeat artwork, this gal was dark. Hmmmm…..another aspect of my long-forgotten self?
