Avoid Walmart When you are Open

I’ve written about the “Walmart headache” in my book, so it surprised me when I had a similar experience there the other day.

It’s the beginning of the month when I like to load up on groceries. I’m very systematic that way. I buy plenty of meat for Sarah’s special meatloaf I make for her, and tons of cans of potatoes. I was singing away, prancing around the Wallyworld aisles as I ran down my list of food and goodies for my new- found hobby of learning how to cook.

Everything was going swimmingly well although I did feel a little closed-in when I noticed how many folks there were who also had the idea of loading up on groceries at the beginning of the month. Recognizing that feeling I wrapped myself in several colored bubbles for emotional protection.

I made it to the bread aisle this time when it hit me. What it felt like was the stomach flu overcame me. Making it to the other side of the store felt like an impossible task of walking through mounds of glue. Did I have food poisoning? my brain screamed at me. I was learning how to bake and cook. Maybe it took that long to “kick in.” (I do have a dramatic mind.)

Luckily, I was almost done with my list.

My mind was racing. How could this be? I even wrote about this in my book! I had my bubbles on! I grabbed my flower essences from my purse.

I pushed my cart to the checkout line and used it for balance as now I felt wobbly. There were tons of people around the checkouts–only 3 lines open out of many and everyone was crowded in like a tight elevator.

I grabbed a magazine at the counter to distract myself. That helped. Although it’s sad about Penny Marshall’s health and Katie Holmes looks somber. Finally, I brought in my Turtle Shell all around me safe and sound. And the nausea went away.

What happened in Walmart? I think the store is set up with no air flow, no windows. The energy just sits there in little globs and if you are empathic, you pick it up, especially if you are open psychically. That particular spot probably had one stuck spot that registered as overload in my body and so I shut off. Often, we resonate to certain emotions that we are feeling or wanting to be known, but that’s a whole other blog post.

Did you ever have that happen to you? What worked and didn’t work?

Sketchbook Saturday: fancy little drawings

I’ve been working on a few books right now including the sequel to HELP! I’M SENSITIVE, YOUR TURTLE SHELL. Designing the book is just as fun as writing the book for me. I’ve been playing with little essay headers.

Lots of crankiness in the world–we need this

I am noticing a lot of crankiness and hot tempers in the world lately. It’s probably the unusual heat plaguing areas not used to it (we’re used to it) that is upsetting everyone’s Pitta. Last week I related to it, as I was hormonally challenged, so I do understand. But we do need more light to fill up that darkness. It’s too easy to get lost in it and then we think we are the dark parts! So, I bring you this:

Aren’t they pretty? Nothing cheers my soul like finding a pretty flower in my yard I didn’t know was there!

And this! Finding a face on the rock elder beneath my feet.

A stray butterfly flying by my head brings me such joy; such delicate beauty.

You see, lots of yuck can happen in your world. Believe me I KNOW. But there is a small little part in our heart that survives, and it notices the beauty and the wonder in the world. It loves the everyday magic in the passing butterfly. It’s like a good seed planted there, and everyday we are handed bad seeds to grow–through the media, other people, life.  I say,

NURTURE THE HELL OUT OF THOSE GOOD SEEDS!

Reminds me that one acorn can grow an oak tree. Just one!

(You will have to excuse me. I have just finished watching a marathon watching of MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO and I’m feeling quite nice.)

Do you have an Insect Attachment?

Yesterday, while watching a movie and cuddling my basset, I felt a huge drop of energy, fear and a wave of insecurity. These feelings didn’t match the comfy feel of my dog girl, or the interesting movie I was watching. I wasn’t recently slimed or had any negative interactions with anyone that I was aware of. I noted it and went to bed to do a meditation to take care of it.

Calling in my helpers, and of course the Fairies of the house, I scanned my body. And there it was…an attachment on my shoulder! You know the expression, “feeling like someone is always over your shoulder?” There isn’t a saying like that? Well, there should be. That is definitely how I felt!

The attachment clairvoyantly looked like a giant spider looking quite comfortable clutching to my shoulder.

The biggest symptom I could make out of knowing the attachment was there was the recurring, OCD-like thoughts in my head I couldn’t get rid of. I felt like someone else’s energy was on top of mine.

I’ve been watching this fun anime series, HOLIC, which is quite spiritual in nature. The show is very entertaining, but what I really like about it is it addresses the dynamics of psychic energy. The main character even sees energy, like I do, which is comforting. In the episode I was watching about two twin girls, the one twin was a bit of a failure and a klutz. Deeper into the episode we see that the other twin basically fed into her sister’s mind treadmill with remarks like “Oh no, you don’t want to trip. You know how you mess up….” It was fascinating to see as each time she remarked, there were waves going out to her plagued sister that the cartoon audience could see. That little attachment on my shoulder felt just like that.

Once I cleared the little insect parasite off my shoulder (I asked it to leave!) and brought in all the good fairy energy — my matching energy — I slept like a baby and had wonderful, funny dreams. And this morning, I could see and think clearly. I was even able to write this lesson!

Attachments are a different form of SLIMING. They hang on and influence. Sometimes they are other folk’s energy from far away or nearby, or something we picked up from others, and other times spirits are hanging on. But the key is to recognize them and send them far away, just like you would relocate the spider or fly out of the house.

Thanks to Marla mentioning, I did remove one word from this post. Normally, I don’t change what I write, but she did make a very good point as I wasn’t clear in my writing. I do like spiders, I don’t like nasty attachments that are stuck to me.

Celebrate the Woo Hoo’s

Most sensitive people have a few characteristics that are the same:

  1. We like to please.
  2. We can be very hard on ourselves.
  3. We are hard-working and considerate, and very diligent.

I noticed these traits in myself and many of my students and clients.

On top of being a sensitive, I am also a Capricorn who likes to climb mountains; usually impossible ones. Climbing the impossible ones are a habit from childhood–very high expectations I continually tried to reach. I often forget my sensitive nature and plow right over it which can cause lots of problems which make climbing mountains difficult & failure inevitable.

Today, I tuned into guidance on my many endeavors and my climbing the impossible, and heard clearly to Celebrate What I’m Doing Right. I call this Celebrate my Woo Hoo’s!

Being very creative, like most folks who visit THE DESIGNING FAIRY, I whipped out my art journal. I began to keep track of my successes, listing them, and any happy compliments coming my way, and even little milestones like, “Wow, I didn’t kill the Weed Guy this week even though I really wanted to.” I judged my success on how I felt, and who I touched or helped–what mattered to me. I hope to keep this a habit — my weekly check-ins– to form a new habit of thinking to replace the years of contradictory non-woo hoo thinking.

What can you celebrate?

It’s my R is for Roses from the Healing Fairy Alphabet.

I love roses! When I moved here to my fairy castle I was pleasantly surprised to find several rose bushes in my yard. At the time, I really needed healing on all levels and just being by the Roses I am convinced has helped me. Roses lift us up from whatever pain, bad mood, or circumstance we are facing and give us a higher perspective so we can think again and see things clearly. Can you pick up some roses today to help you heal?

Animal Communication · Animals

Signs you have a sensitive pet

If you are sensitive, chances are you have a sensitive animal companion. My Sarah is my poster child for sensitivity. She mirrors me often and has many of the same empathic characteristics.

7 Signs of a Sensitive Pet:

  1. Sensitive digestion. Like me, if I introduce a new food into my diet suddenly, or if I eat something I shouldn’t, OR I am emotionally upset or nervous, my stomach will cry out loud and clear. Same thing for Sarah.
  2. Sensitive to medication and chemicals. Sarah will react to strong antibiotics, aspirin, and a little painkiller goes far. Too much will cause problems, that’s why many holistic and natural methods work best for her.
  3. Sensitive to emotions. Sarah is super empathic and will pick up when I am upset hours before I even realize it. She needs to learn how not to carry my stuff.
  4. Sensitive to change. As long as our schedule is consistent our life goes swimmingly well. If I am out most the day when I ordinarily am not, I will come home to a very agitated Sarah and lots of protesting messes.
  5. Sensitive to energies. Sarah will be the first one to know if there is a visiting spirit in the house.

Just like with people, there are lots of tools you can add to your repertoire to assist your sensitive pet. Sign up and start any Friday Fairy Online School Friday the combo teleclass (audio lessons) and written lessons CARE OF THE SENSITIVE PET! Offered all through October with minimum homework and lots of information and help for your friend.

Last night’s fairy interview

My friend Janet Roper has a fabulous radio show you will all love all about animal communication! Last night I had the privilege to be one of the guests on her show talking about THE CONNECTION BETWEEN FAIRIES AND ANIMALS, my two favorite subjects! The show was excellent which included a holistic health tip and a great interview with Nedda Wittels regarding lost animal cases. To hear all of it and hear me giggle while I talk of fairies go here. (My interview is during the second half of the show.)

Interesting aside, after participating in the radio show, I had fabulous dreams about flower gardens and light until waking up at midnight to a loud BANG coming from the reading room. When I went to check on it I noticed my fairy poster had fallen off the wall onto the ground. Interesting, eh?
