The meaning of poison?
Emma Lou, our basset hound, ate a bottle of chewable glucosamine yesterday. After the panic, and quick calls to the doctor, we were told she would probably be very bloated and gassy, but she’d be fine. Can you imagine? After eating a bottle? Thank goodness!
Here’s the weird part…and there is always a weird part with my life. The day before Jessica was home from school from eating four peppers from a classmate. She got sick from eating them and ending up in the nurse’s office.
Big coincidence. The next morning I dreamt about Emma being poisoned by a vampire, sick, but okay.
The vet said on the phone that eating too much of glucosamine, a relatively safe supplement, may upset Emma’s blood sugar temporarily. Blood, vampire. Hmmm.
Being the spiritually-minded person that I am, I always look for the big picture or message here. Was the dream a premonition–that which was going to happen? Or, what was planned? What was I taking in that was poisoning me, even if temporarily. What do you think?
Animals and the Astral Plane
Before sleep, I usually tell Foxy I want to visit with her in my dreams. I notice this usually happens somewhere between 3am and 8am. The first half of the night I sleep like dreck. 🙂
The visits in my dreams have been consistent. I always go to the same place in the astral world. Foxy is there, living her life, and I can feel and see her with great clarity.
Last night, I spent the entire dream at the same college I always go to in sleep and Foxy followed me around through the whole dream. Again, the dream was quite lucid. What was amazing this time is how strongly I felt her personality and energy. I was with her. And like in this world before she left her body, she stayed by my side.
When I woke I felt glorious!
How do you know if it is a real spirit visit vs. a dream?
- The dream is so lucid; you are aware you are some place else but dreaming.
- Your senses are heightened. I could feel Foxy’s fur and her personality.
- I felt wonderful when I awoke carrying with me the energy of the Other Side.
- It is consistent: the details, the place you go for the visit.
- And finally, because I asked for a visit before I went to sleep!

The 30 day tribute
In our Animal Mediumship online class that I teach, I present the 30 day challenge. In between my usual posts here, I hope to keep up a 30 day tribute to my friend and coworker, Foxy Cleopatra. Although she has been very active in her visits lately, I still miss her physical presence and would like to pay tribute to her life in a fur body.
I invite you to join the challenge for your own animals that you have lost in the past year.
For Foxy, who always tucked everyone in at night and slept by my side of the bed. She always refused to sleep on the bed, unlike Emma Lou, who as soon as she joined us, insisted on it.
Crazy life and Foxy visit
I haven’t blogged. Our lives are crazy at the moment right now. We are moving again in a month–our lease is up and we would prefer more than one bathroom. 🙂 Our daughter Jessica, who we had adopted five years ago, is having major troubles with her old trauma coming up and I can’t even begin to discuss that here. So, sometimes, when life is doing a big clearing and healing, the picture doesn’t always look very good.
On the one very positive note, our Foxy’s spirit, as she had promised before she crossed, has been very active in helping us, including visiting one of my best friends to deliver some messages. Wendy called me and said, “What a night. Foxy just visited with a bunch of messages.” To add to the validation, her son woke from a dead sleep and muttered, “I didn’t sleep well last night. The dog kept talking to me.”
Last night I had the funniest dream mixed in with a visit. Foxy burst into the room riding a bicycle! I watched amazed her tackling this bike. It was a bit of a joke because when Foxy was alive, she was constantly pushing herself to learn and try things, and was determined to always heal everything that didn’t work in her body. I asked her how it was possible she was still here. And she said, she regenerated. She then turned into Demi Moore! She told me in her Foxy voice, “I wanted to continue being your teacher, Dear.” I told her I had plenty of questions, so we sat and talked. I woke with the best feeling, awashed in Foxy’s energy!

I want to save them all.
It’s funny. I can’t cry easily. I could be welled up with inner turmoil and such pain and yet, nothing. But, if I hear about a dog in turmoil or pain, out come the tears. Can’t stop them. I watch the elephant paint and I feel such awe and joy. I woke up this morning and thought, I want to save them all.
