Cut off from society and withdrawal

It’s hot as hell in the Arizona desert and I cut off from society. I am trapped and deeply alone.  Okay, not really. It just sounded exciting and dramatic. It’s day 11 of no computer. I am using the library’s computer. Perhaps, it is a way to have me integrate into the local community instead of hiding away in my little house cocoon. I am finding I have gone through several stages without my computer:

Stage one: shock and disbelief. My motherboard is what??? The computer I got on ebay is how old? You are kidding me?

Stage two: not acceptance but problem-solving mode. How can I access my emails to help students and clients and send lessons? I’ve visited the college library, the local library, and the Chamber of Commerce (a very empty and lonely place).

Stage three: anger. Best Buy still can’t get me the computer? You could have deliverymen come but only between 10 and 12 am when I am not even in town?

Stage four: apathy. Maybe I will just nap.

Stage five: Waiting for new computer to come by UPS. Probably within this hour I am here checking my email at the library it will come. Damn. I just jinxed it.

Stage six: Hope. Hopefully, I will get new computer today and we will bond.

Stage seven: What is this experience telling me? I need to get out more. There’s really good ac in the libraries and other people that have faces instead of emails. Weird, huh?

I was without internet service for about a week not too long ago and I felt pretty much the same way … isolated;)) I went to the library to access the internet but there’s a time limit as to amount of use there. Hoping that you’ll be getting your computer before long…got my fingers and toes crossed for you;))
